Miguel Barata Almeida
Graduated in Management of Tourism and Hotel Companies, Bachelor in Hotel Management, he has a long path in this area, where he stands out for the Portuguese Army, where he was responsible for the areas of food production, meal service and events; managed restaurant and beverage companies and tourist hunting areas. Currently he exercises the profession of Trainer where he trains tourism and catering technicians in professional education.
Member of the Municipal Councils of the “Ericeira World Surf Reserve” and “Tourism”.
In the Surfing area, he has been the President of Ericeira Surf Clube and its Founding Partner since 2012. Responsible for directing events and competitions, scheduling, sponsorship plans, having also directed several projects related to surfing, which relate young and old, people with disabilities and people at risk of social exclusion. He has several backgrounds as Technical Director and Surf and Bodyboard Judge. He is one of the representatives of Ericeira’s World Surf City at WSCN World Conferences and meetings.
Luís Miguel Bernardes
Luís Miguel Félix Bernardes, PhD in Earth and Space Sciences, in the field of Geophysics, Master in Energy and Environment and Graduated in Physical Oceanography, has always been connected to the Sea, from the area of specialization to sport, through his professional career.
He was a member of the Mission Structure for the Extension of the Continental Platform as a scientific consultant and operational oceanographer, he was also in Angola and Timor-Leste as a hydrographic consultant. Since then, he has been focusing on the vague theme of Sustainability, namely in its practical application, in agriculture, through permaculture, in sport and in the environment.
Miguel Toscano
Graduated in Economics in de field of Development, has an executive MBA in Business Management and is specialized in European Negotiation by the European Parliament.
With a solid professional career of 30 years in the public and private sectors, since 2000 Miguel has assumed responsibilities in structuring, directing and managing companies, brands and strategic business units in several companies in the Human Resources Sector. Miguel is specialized in Eurofunding and in his professional career he has more than 10 experience in structuring consortium and coordinating projects financed either by Euro-Funding Programs or within the scope of Portugal 2020.
Since 2014 Miguel has belonged to the Steering Committee of Ericeira Surf Clube and assumed CIO functions with the responsibility for coordinating the Ericeira Surf Clube Innovation and Collaborative Networks Department.
José Eduardo Maia
As a tourism consultant, he leads GMT Hospitality in the development of destination management projects. He is the coordinator of pioneering Smart Destinations projects and represents the American Hotels and Lodging Association and the National Restaurant Association in Portugal.
Degree in Tourism Management and Planning from the Universidade of Aveiro, Master in Hospitality Management from Cornell University, he built an international hospitality career at Ritz-Carlton LLC, embarking on tourism consultancy in 2008.
Hugo da Rocha Pereira
Journalist since 2010, has collaborated with several national media. In 2013, launched the editorial project AZUL – Ericeira Mag, which is dedicated to spreading the best of this region to Portugal and the world. Since 2011 has regularly published articles and reports on Ericeira’s World Surfing Reserve.
In addition to journalism, has also worked in the area of content production for companies and institutions.
With a law degree, took a legal postgraduate degree in Urbanism and Environment, practicing law between 2005 and 2010.
Sérgio dos Santo Reis
With a degree in Human Resources, he is responsible for salary processing and preparation of documentation for hiring employees at the largest Portuguese company for the distribution of equipment and surfing materials and the network of physical stores. His experience in the administrative area is vast and consolidated.
He has been Vice-President of Ericeira Surf Clube since 2012 and responsible for the Bodyboard modality
Filipe Valadão

Martim Bento Franco
Graduated in Environmental Engineering Sciences and Master in Sanitary Engineering.
Process Engineer at the company responsible for the treatment of wastewater in Greater Lisbon – Águas do Tejo Atlântico, SA.
In his career in this area, he volunteered for the Thames21 Program, working with communities to improve rivers and channels for people and wildlife.
Also participated in a six-month school exchange program at Delft University of Technology, with the aim of carrying out the practical part of the master’s thesis guided by a Phd student.
Member of the Board of Ericeira Surf Clube since 2012.
André Serzedelo de Almeida
Graduated in Naval Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico.
He currently performs engineering functions for a multi-national elevator company, where over the years he has organized several corporate sporting events
He was also connected to the Naval Construction, where he performed several functions in the Shipyards of Peniche.
He has been a member of the Club since its foundation, having been a member of the governing bodies in various periods. He has been a frequent participant in the Club’s various competitions over the past decades.
Bruno Avelar Rosa
He is the representative of Qantara Sports, a consulting company that supports the implementation of the EriceiraWSR + 10 project.
He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Coimbra and an External Expert of the European Commission for Sports Topics.
PhD in Educational Psychology and Graduated in Sport Sciences. He was born in Mafra and lives in Ericeira.

ESC PRESENTED “ERICEIRA WSR+10” IN IPDJ WEBINAR
Ericeira Surf Clube was recently featured in a webinar promoted by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ – Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude) about the good practices of sport clubs under a European community program.
ERICEIRA TO HOST WORLD SURF LEAGUE CHALLENGER SERIES
Next year Ericeira will once again host a World Surf League (WSL) Challenger Series event.
The stage of maximum status of the world qualifying circuit is scheduled for October 2021 (between the 5th and 10th, more precisely) in Ribeira d’Ilhas.
