Austrian Surfing
St. Poelten
Austria

Austrian Surfing is based in St. Poelten and operates at an international level. AS includes all clubs and associations that wish to foster and perform the sport of surfing as defined by the ISA.

The ISA (International Surfing Association), the ESF (European Surfing Federation) and Sport Austria (Austrian Sports Organization) recognize Austrian Surfing as the official Austrian Surfing Association and ambassador for surfing in Austria. The association represents the interests of its associated clubs in international surf organizations and acts as a platform for surfers.

Austrian Surfing‘s mission is to further develop surfing as an activity closely linked to nature and the environment.

The green room (also known as “tube” or “barrel”; referring to the room that forms “inside the wave” as it breaks very hollow) is without doubt the ultimate goal and favorite location of every surfer. Once inside, you wish to get back again and again and again, if you make it back out, you experience a flash of adrenaline, energy and joy that is not comparable to anything else, a true gift of nature. With our AS GREEN ROOM, we wish to thank nature for providing us with all those great moments we experience.

To make Austrian Surfing as sustainable as possible in all aspects is paramount to us. The AS GREEN ROOM is therefore a recurrent theme on our website – from the surf instructor courses to the championships to links of interesting projects. Our philosophy means getting active personally and on a scientific base – we believe the Ecological Footprint is the currently best approach to make our ecological limits tangible. We are not pointing our fingers at others and hysterically demand the implementation of measures we are not even able to implement in our own lives.
